"Listen to this Job; Stop and Consider God's Wonders" Job 37:14
If you haven't read the book of Job, I would recommend it. It stops my pit party in a flash. I don't want to give it away (as the Bible really is the greatest story ever told - honestly!) but I will say just when you think things couldn't get any worse for him - they do!We do live in crazy troubled times when it's so easy to just give in to worldly temptations and go back to drinking, drugs, pornography, etc to try and shut out our problems. But instead, pause and reflect on the grace and wonderful deeds of God. Look at the earth - He made it out of chaos! He made the sky, the waters, the lands, mountains, animals, insects, people - everything! He created the smells of lilacs and the sounds of thunder. How creative and amazing is that!
God promises us eternal and abundant lives. Praise Him and believe in Him. He did all these wonderful things that we can actually see. Don't you want to see all that He has promised is ours that we can't see yet? I'm not ready to depart this earth yet and so I will praise Him for all the awesomeness that He has given in my life - and I will stop the pity party too.
