When Dark Clouds Gather

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2

It is a fact of life that sometimes storm clouds gather, darkening our lives, and it is futile to ignore them, hoping they will disappear.
Instead, stand firm with a living faith in the Almighty God, who controls the storms and hurricanes.
However, threatening the circumstances of life may be, it is imperative that you do not allow ANYTHING (emp mine) to take God’s central role in your life. With Him as the center you will maintain your balance. The ominous clouds might still be present, but you will be assured that your loving Father is working everything together for your good.
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2
—Yes I added the emphasis on the ANYTHING because you can substitute anything there - drugs, alcohol, pornography, lust, sex, money, work, gambling..I mean it does go on and on. Be creative. Reflect on your life and see what you can substitute there - it may seem harmless but if it becomes a “god” to you then it becomes a block. You are no longer relying on God and frankly, for those in recovery for an addiction it hasn’t worked out so well to rely on ourselves. So when we see those black clouds coming we must remain strong and in Him.
Today I will choose to stay strong in Him!!
