Psalm 138:7-8
New International Version (NIV)
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
with your right hand you save me.
8 The Lord will vindicate me;
your love, Lord, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
with your right hand you save me.
8 The Lord will vindicate me;
your love, Lord, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
"The Lord will fulfill His purpose for you" is another translation. We must cling to this truth during our dark times because the Lord cannot be anything other than He is - and he is truth! He doesn't neglect His children! Ever! Period!
So during these times we ought to thank God for His plan and if it's not obvious as to what that plan is, ask Him to reveal it to you. Overcoming addictions, hurts, hang-ups and habits is truly what God desires. He doesn't want us to remain in the darkness of addiction, so He does have a plan to redeem you. Allow Him to work in you and let Him work the details. I know it's hard to have faith during these times but it will be worth it. No doubt in my mind. Why - because so many before you have experienced this freedom. Remember, God is faithful and if you remain in Him, you can never drift away from His love.
