Faith is a Process of Growth

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

It is sad that so many Christians make little progress in their spiritual lives after accepting Christ as they Savior.
Ask yourself: Is Christ becoming more real to me? Is prayer essential in my decision-making? Do I find God’s will for my life in the Scriptures? Am I nearer to Christ than I was when I was born again?
It takes courage to answer these questions. Allow this to be a prelude to renewing your faith in Christ and there will be no end to the growth and development it will bring forth. This growth will bring life-giving energy, enabling you to develop in Christlikeness and bear fruit in God’s kingdom.
— Am I growing closer to God? Hmm.. That is a question I wrestle with every day. Are my actions honorable to myself and ultimately to Him? I can understand how hard this is in today’s world. Fighting addictions is exhausting - do I have energy left over to focus on Him.
Let me give you an example of how I wrestle with this question. When I was creating recoveryBox, I thought about adding daily devotions as part of the app, but then the worldly viewpoint came to mind. If I do..do I run the risk of not selling apps and trying to recoup my expenses? I went back and forth on this and I even think about it now that I made the decision. I hope others can see how I see this decision as a spiritual growth decision I made. Yes, I am SURE I am losing on sales because I write about God and Jesus. BUT, for my own personal recovery I NEED Him. And so my decision became self evident.
We all have these decisions to make in life. I hope the decisions you make in life reflect the growth of your faith.
