Having Peace When Life Goes CRAZY!

In keeping with His promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.  2 Peter 3:13

Let's face it - our lives are CRAZY! We live in a society that forces us to split ourselves in so many directions with so many decisions that have to get made - daily! And living at that speed often causes us to have a sense panic. We start to worry about everything - often because we just are moving too fast to step back and see the big picture.

And then it happens - a crisis. Do we collapse in defeat because we have nothing left in our tanks and feel the problem is just too big for us?

But if you live in Him, He promises a life of abundance. And by living in Him I mean taking time to fill your tank daily on His word - His promises - His ways. When you do that each day and dark times hit (and they will) your first instinct will not be panic but rather it will be to turn to Him.  And by remembering His promises, you will have a sense of peace knowing He will work "it" out.  His goal is to guide you to God's eternal kingdom and so the answers He has may not always be what we thought should happen.  But by filling our tanks, we will be able to trust.

Spirit of Love

Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. Romans 5:5

Jesus promised His Holy Spirit to everyone who accepts Him as Lord and Savior and He has kept this promise.

Remember that Christ can change your life. As you open your heart to Him, a new unsurpassed strength will fill your soul and enable you to do things that are pleasing to God. This change and new strength are the work of the Spirit and will assure you of Christ's presence in your life.

If you have the spirit of Christ you will know the reality of His holy presence. Love for Him will radiate from your heart and life.

Grace for Each Moment

-- I can attest to this! I find the more I find myself in love with God and believing his promises that my choices, actions, thoughts are filtered with the phrase "what would Jesus want me to do?" And when I act on that I am filled with such a wonderful feeling. And that feeling is what I want more of. And so on it goes. What an amazing gift we have been given!!

Where Does My Hope Come From?

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. 1 Peter 3:15

In today's world filled with violence and ugliness toward other mankind, it would be so easy to give up hope. But as we reflect on the eve of the night that we proclaim the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, we are reminded that Jesus came to save the world for all sinners.

No matter the darkness that shrouds your life and feelings toward the world, there is a light shining - it's the Light of the world. Jesus invites us to leave the darkness and evil behind and put our hope in Him. He invited us to believe in Him and He WILL help us face the world with joy.

During this Advent season, we are reminded that our suffering drives us to the hope we have in Christ - a hope for our future - and I don't mean earthly short temporary life either. Our future with no pain and no suffering is ours because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ - which would not be possible without the amazing virgin birth.

This evening is our service at church and I'm so looking forward to a time of reflection for the amazing gift of Jesus Christ. I pray that you too will use this time to reflect on the birth of Jesus and the ultimate sacrifice for us.
